Year 2 and Year 6 SATs Tests
The Year 2 and Year 6 children should be incredibly proud of themselves. They have shown such a lovely, calm attitude, as always. On my visits into the classes all the children have been happy and hard working. It has been a time to show off all their achievements! Well done!

School Houses
From September 2018 we will be launching our new school Houses. The children will be organised into 4 different Houses, we are yet to decide on the theme and names of the Houses. Our current reward system will generate an element of competition as the children will be able to collect their colour Chance Cards to be counted at the end of each term – the House with the most will have a special treat!

The children will represent their House by wearing PE t-shirts in their House colour – you will not be asked to buy a new t-shirt for September as school will purchase the children’s first coloured t-shirt. We will let you know the House names before we break up!

E-mail – School Communication
Most schools are moving towards a paper free approach to communicate with parents/carers. From September 2018 we will email all correspondence e.g. newsletters, trip letters, flyers etc… and continue to text dates and reminders. Please can you make sure you have provided school with your most up to date mobile number and email address. Paper copies will be available at the school office if requested. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in helping us to move forward in our communication.

Money
Our School Money system is working well and to support our move as a forward thinking school we will be moving to a ‘no cash’ school from September. We will be accepting online payments for Kidspace, dinner money and trips etc… Please contact the office should you require further information or support.

PTA
Our PTA will be having a second hand book sale on Thursday 7th June after school in the hall, during the Parent Learning Adventure afternoon. All books 20p – donations kindly received.

Bag2school will be back on Monday 25th June. Please save old/unwanted clothes – donation bags will be sent home soon.

Please join us at ‘Picnic in the Park’ on Sunday 10th June. The PTA will be selling refreshments, raising money for the playground renovations. Look out for news on the playground renovations!

Thank you for all your help and support. The PTA has recently been able to buy £1000 of books for school – amazing!

Warm Weather
Our weather has certainly improved and we have recently enjoyed some very warm days. To ensurethe children stay safe in the sun we have  provided all children with a school cap. Please could you apply sun cream before school, you may also send in a small bottle for the children to reapply cream if necessary.

Child Safety
During the next half term we are having a whole school focus on ‘Keeping Safe’ – road & railway safety, e-safety and sun & water safety. We continuously educate the children in these areas through the year, but as the summer holidays approach, we believe it is important that children take time to reflect and have the opportunity to discuss and engage in activities to help them make the right choices to stay safe.

Uniform
Thank you for following our uniform policy, the children look so smart. It is great for the children to have an identity helping them feel part of our happy community. You will find our uniform policy/list of uniform on our school website and in our school handbook ready for the next academic year.
